How To Use The Kicker Tailgate Speaker System
It is tailgate season! Whether you are setting up your pre-game party near Lumen Field or Husky Stadium, you want to be ready to celebrate your favorite team in style.
If you want to be the life of the tailgate party, you should first get a GMC Sierra 1500 or Sierra HD from Valley GMC. Then, you can add the extra sound of the Tailgate Bluetooth Audio System by Kicker.
For decades, Kicker speakers have boosted the volume inside select General Motors vehicles. They add a powerful range of tones throughout the cabin, rivaling custom audio systems.
This audio system brings the sound from inside the cab to the steps of the MultiPro Tailgate and onto your party.
The system consists of a 100-watt stereo speaker system with two four-inch coaxial drivers and a small amplifier. You can connect external devices to this sound system via a USB-A cable, a 3.5 mm jack, or a Bluetooth connection. Power for these speakers is drawn directly from the truck’s battery.
It is also weatherproof. Perfect for our Puget Sound climate!
To get things rolling, just drop the MultiPro tailgate to its lowest position, creating steps into the box. When the full-width step is deployed, the speaker system will automatically switch on.
On the system, you can toggle through the input between AUX, USB, or Bluetooth. When using the latter, make sure to hold the Play/Pause button to prepare to pair your device. Just like you are connecting your phone with the infotainment system inside the cab, go into your Bluetooth settings to finish pairing, and you are ready to rock the parking lot.
Through your device, you can play back your music files or streaming services. One of those streaming services just might have the pre-game show or a game in the program with one of the Seahawks’ NFC West or Huskies’ Big 10 rivals.
It is great for tailgates before Seahawks or Huskies games. It is also great for camping trips, construction sites—you’ve got to have music to work the day away—and right at home when your friends come over for a backyard barbeque.
The Tailgate Bluetooth Audio System by Kicker is an extra-cost feature that can be ordered with your new vehicle or added as a dealer-installed accessory for $895. However, to have one installed, you must have your GMC Sierra 1500 or HD equipped with the MultiPro Tailgate.
Keep in mind that this audio system is not part of the infotainment setup inside the cab of your Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD, as it requires a separate input from outside the pickup truck.
When you need some extra volume for your Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD pickup truck, contact us at Valley GMC to add it to your pickup truck. We can have our service team install it right for you.
