GMC Acadia: Don’t Overlook This Stylish Family Crossover

In the market for a three-row crossover that can carry your family and belongings in both comfort and style? Have you considered the GMC Acadia?  GMC may be better known for its large trucks and truck-based SUVs like the Yukon and Yukon XL, but if you want a well-balanced 3-row crossover from a brand with big vehicle experience, you’ll want to put the GMC Acadia on your shopping list.  

The Acadia was redesigned for the 2024 model year, and received some big changes in the process. Literally. Compared to the prior-generation model, the current Acadia is a larger vehicle, providing significantly more interior and cargo space within. The interior and dashboard have also been redesigned with a far more sophisticated layout and higher-quality materials than before. Depending on configuration, some Acadia models can seat up to eight passengers, although the available second-row captain’s chairs – hallmarks of both the Acadia Denali and AT4 models – bring that total to seven. Regardless, there’s plenty of legroom available within, as 2nd row passengers have 42.4 inches, while third-row passengers have 32.1 inches available.  

Behind the third row is 23 cubic feet of cargo space.  If the third-row isn’t in use, fold it flat and expand that volume up to 57.3 cubic feet. Fold all rear passenger seats, and the Acadia offers an expansive 97.5 cubic feet of cargo. 

Taking advantage of its lithe unibody construction, 2026 Acadias are powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4, which produces 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque.  That power is sent to an efficient eight-speed automatic, before then driving either the front or all-four wheels. Due to our local terrain and climate, Valley GMC predominantly stocks all-wheel drive Acadia models, which are EPA rated at 20 mpg city/ 23 mpg highway/ 21 mpg combined. local terrain and weather, Valley GMC mostly stocks the latter.  EPA fuel mileage for the AWD model is 20 city / 23 highway / 21 combined.  

 Acadia’s renovated interior is incredibly handsome, especially when  it comes to the instrument panel, which incorporates a digital 11-inch driver display and a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a phone charging pad are all standard, as is a 12-speaker Bose audio system, which can be upgraded to a 16-speaker theater-style system on the Acadia Denali.
