Everything You Can Do With The MultiPro Tailgate

The introduction of the MultiPro Tailgate on the GMC Sierra has been a game changer for so many people. With its unrivaled usability, there are more than half a dozen ways to use the MultiPro for professional and recreational situations. 

Bed Extender

When hauling longer items in the bed of your truck it becomes necessary to put in a bed extender. But, when you’re not using it, it is folded into the bed taking up valuable space. With the MultiPro Tailgate, you can lower the tailgate to add extra length. Then, you can raise the inside panel as what GMC calls a “load stop”, preventing things like dirt bikes, ATVs, wood, etc. from rolling back and sliding out of the bed and potentially causing harm to others. 

Load Stop

Similar to the bed extender feature, the inner gate load stop allows for the tailgate to be closed, but the inner portion of the tailgate to be opened. This allows longer items, such as plywood and other types of supplies, to be separated from other objects in the bed while also not allowing them to slide back and forth. 

Work And Chill Surface

The tailgate of a pickup truck is one of the most usable surfaces to do pretty much anything. From eating food, loading and unloading tools from a box, or even prepping a tackle box for a fishing day, the tailgate can make your life easier. And to make it even easier, GMC allows you to lower the inner gate to create a better work surface and place to sit or prop a leg up to take a break. The optional 120-volt electrical outlet brings further convenience to truck owners. 

Easier Access

The MultiPro Tailgate gives owners the ability to lower the inner portion of the tailgate to be able to reach farther into the bed to get things that have either slid all the way forward or items you placed farther forward in the bed. Lowering the inner gate allows you to be nearly 10 inches closer to everything in the bed. 

A Helping Step

With the primary and inner gates lowered you can release the inner panel that then becomes a 48-inch wide step, holding up to 350 lbs. To ease getting in and out of the bed, a grab handle can be unfolded from the cargo box and locked to keep it sturdy. 

Tailgate Jams

By optioning the MultiPro Audio System by KICKER, you get a 100-watt stereo system built right into the tailgate of your Sierra. Buying the Sierra 1500 AT4X or Denali Ultimate brings you this feature as standard, or you can have the setup installed by your local dealer. The system uses Bluetooth to connect to your device, and it features two 4” coaxial drivers, a small amplifier with controls, and a USB port that can charge the device you’re using to stream music or podcasts. Basically, no tailgate will be better without the MultiPro Audio System.
