2025 GMC Yukon Goes Upmarket

GMC has plenty of respect for its posh corporate cousin Cadillac but also thinks that if one wants a luxury truck or truck-based SUV, he or she should look to a manufacturer that knows trucks. Thus, GMC has taken its flagship Yukon and Yukon XL SUV models—and the Denali line in particular—further upmarket. Valley GMC gives you the details.  

Naturally, the exterior changes are the first things you notice, including a refinement of the grille shape and lighting treatments. Inside, you will find a new lower-profile dashboard for better sightlines, formed around the 16.8-inch diagonal Premium GMC Information Center. The screen has a vertical format that lets users customize maps, audio inputs, and vehicle diagnostics. There is also an available 8.0-inch screen behind the center console that enables second-row passengers to adjust the climate control to their tastes. All are powered by Google Built-in, which includes on-board Google Maps and wireless smartphone compatibility for both Apple and Android phones. 

At the bottom of the Yukon and Yukon XL model lines, the former SLE and SLT trim levels have been discontinued, which has the trim levels now start with the Elevation. The whole model hierarchy appears as follows:

Such bar-raising includes several new safety technologies across the model line, which include: 

• Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking 
• Rear Cross Traffic Braking 
• Side Bicyclist Alert 
• Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking 

As the Yukon and Yukon XL are often used for towing, they now offer new sophisticated trailering tech, including: 

• Blind Zone Steering Assist – Alerts drivers and provides a brief, firm turn of the steering wheel when a potential crash is detected with a moving vehicle in a side blind zone that is extended to trailer lengths. 
• Transparent Trailer View – Uses a tailgate-mounted camera and an available customer-installed auxiliary camera on the rear of a compatible trailer to help virtually see through a compatible trailer to view objects or vehicles behind it. 
• Trailer Reverse Trajectory – Adds rearward guidelines to track the path of the trailer when backing up. 
• Trailer Tire Health – This adds leak detection, tire life monitor, and over-speed warning to the Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System. 
• Jackknife Alert – Tracks the position of the compatible trailer in relation to the vehicle to notify the driver of a potential jackknife situation. 

The AT4 Ultimate combines the AT4 hardware with the luxury features of the Denali: 

• A front skid plate and 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires 
• Four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension that can raise the vehicle up to two inches to improve ground clearance when off-road 
• Luxurious Obsidian Rush interior with three rows of full-grain leather seating and Ash Burl wood accents 
• New unique leather seat style, featuring open pore wood décor, and leather rim steering wheel accents 

Above the Denali is the Denali Ultimate, which includes Denali options plus a few exclusives. Key features of the Denali Ultimate include: 

• Exclusive 24-inch eight-spoke machined wheels with laser etching—a first-ever for Yukon 
• 16-way powered heated and ventilated massaging front seats and second-row Executive Seating featuring luxury captain’s chairs—a first for the GMC lineup 
• New interior wood décor featuring open pore laser etched topographical patterns, chrome accents, and leather rim steering wheel accents
