2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali Goes 507 Miles During Range Test

The verdict is in. The GMC Sierra EV is the best all-electric pickup truck on the market, at least according to Edmunds.com’s EV range test. The publication’s previous best EV range test saw the Lucid Air Dream on top, an ultra-luxury electric sedan that has a base price of $170,500. The 2025 GMC Sierra EV Max Range Denali now takes the crown.  

About the Range Test 

How does Edmunds conduct its EV range testing? “We aim for a mix of 60% city and 40% highway driving, with an average speed of 40 mph. This mix better represents the real-world conditions of EV drivers, rather than just getting on the highway and setting the cruise control to 70 mph. Drivers stay within 5 mph of posted speed limits and use a Racelogic VBOX to record the distance traveled. We tested the Sierra EV on a sunny but cool 58-degree day.” 

EPA Range Estimation and Performance 

The EPA estimates that owners will achieve 460 miles of range in the Sierra EV Max Range Denali. However, the online publication saw the Sierra EV reach 507 miles on a single charge. That not only bests the Lucid’s 506 miles, but also the Chevrolet Silverado EV’s best range test of 484 miles. That also tops the F-150 Lightning, Tesla Cybertruck, and the Rivian R1T. During performance testing, the Sierra EV Denali was able to jump to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds and get through the quarter mile in only 12.6 seconds, which is certainly helped by having 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque.  

Base Price and Capabilities 

For 2025, the Sierra EV Denali has a base price of $99,495, It’s able to tow up to 10,500 pounds and has a maximum payload of 1,450 pounds. Through a Level 3 DC fast charger, owners can add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
