Yukon Denali Makes 2025 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX List

Wards Auto differs from other automotive websites and publications because rather than giving awards to entire vehicles, it breaks down evaluations into specific relevant aspects, such as its “10 Best” awards for Engines and Propulsion Systems and Best Interiors & UX (User Experience). Valley GMC is proud to inform you that Wards Auto has named the 2025 Yukon Denali to its 10 Best Interiors & UX list. 

The Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX program starts by asking each automotive brand to submit a vehicle interior that best reflects its designer’s intent and the brand’s leading technology. Evaluations of nominated vehicles occurred in winter and early spring of 2025, with judges experiencing the vehicles during their daily driving routines. Judges assessed the interiors and user-experience technology based on various metrics, including design aesthetics, comfort, materials, fit and finish, connectivity and infotainment, and displays and controls, as well as advanced driver-assistance system content and value. 

The reviewers were particularly taken with the Yukon’s perforated Leather Teak/Light Shale interior color, which they described as “a less aggressive (compared to the Toyota 4Runner’s dark Blue interior), but still beautiful, pale brown tone to decorate its western-themed cabin.” The Teak/Light Shale is an exclusive interior color for the Denali and one of seven colors available for the model line as a whole. 

Wards looks beyond aesthetics to examine the vehicle’s infotainment systems. These digital systems, typically accessed via a touchscreen, have enabled manufacturers to provide controls for a wide variety of systems. However, owners have often criticized them for being slow or burdened with too many sub-menus for what were once simple operations. Wards seeks systems that are user-friendly and respond quickly and intuitively. 

Thus, the Yukon’s Android OS (also known as Google Built-in) impressed the judges. Standard on all Yukon models is the Google Built-in system that operates the 16.8-inch center touchscreen, which features Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with on-board Google Maps and Google Assistant, and the ability to download additional apps from the Google Play Store. Dave Zoia, one of the judges, remarked that the “Android OS simply works well, and by not […] reinventing the wheel, automakers can concentrate on design and user-experience innovations that better delight customers.”
