What’s New With The GMC Terrain For 2025
The 2025 GMC Terrain is all-new, save for the same engine as the last generation. The thoroughly refreshed vehicle gives buyers a compact SUV they will love inside and out. New tech and safety features, combined with a modest price, will ensure that almost anyone can have a Terrain in their driveway.
Pricing, Engine, and Power
For 2025, the new Terrain is available in the Elevation trim, with the AT4 and Denali following in 2026. The GMC Terrain is priced at $31,890 and comes standard with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive optional. While the rest of the vehicle has been refreshed, the engine was kept due to its durability, performance, and power. The engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that puts out 175 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque for FWD models and 203 lb-ft for AWD models. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for optimal fuel economy.
The Terrain Pleases with Great Fuel Economy
For buyers who choose a FWD Terrain, the EPA says you can expect to get 26 mpg in the city while returning 28 mpg on the highway, with 27 mpg combined. When equipped with AWD, the fuel economy only suffers by two mpg in the city and in the combined driving cycle.
Loads of Standard Tech Features
Standard features on the new Terrain include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, and an 11-inch digital gauge cluster. Available tech includes a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, HD Surround Vision camera, rain-sensing wipers, an Autosense power liftgate that will automatically open the rear hatch when it senses the key fob, and Heated Wiper Park, which uses the windshield defroster to heat the windshield wipers.
Some of the Best Standard Safety Features
When it comes to safety, GMC made sure that the new Terrain is one of the best vehicles possible, giving it Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Reverse Automatic Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Automatic High Beams, Rear Parking Sensors, and Blind Zone Steering Assist. With up to eight different camera views, which includes a rear-view camera mirror, the Terrain makes it easy to navigate any type of surface. Two unique safety features include Buckle to Drive and Teen Driver. Buckle to Drive aims to cut down on unnecessary incidents by not allowing the Terrain to shift out of park until the driver’s seatbelt has been fastened. Teen Driver allows parents to customize the functions of a particular key fob when used with the Terrain.
