What’s New for The 2026 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty Pickup Trucks?
When it comes to heavy-duty pickup trucks, only one model line stands out above the rest. That would be the GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD. For 2026, the Sierra HD continues to deliver on pure performance, capability, and strength. That continues with the availability of the Duramax turbocharged diesel V8 with 975 pound-feet of torque, which can deliver up to 36,000 pounds of fifth-wheel/gooseneck towing capacity on the 3500HD.

Only a few things are new for 2026. You can now get the versatile MultiPro Tailgate on SLT models. The added payload management and access to the bed help to make things easier in the back of your pickup truck. With the addition of the MultiPro Tailgate Audio System by Kicker, you have the perfect companion for Seahawks and University of Washington football tailgates.
You also have a couple of new colors for 2026 – Glacier White Tricoat and Coastal Dune. The former adds more luster to just plain white with a shimmery finish. You can find this upgraded white color on select trims, such as the Denali. Coastal Dune is a light, desert-like sandy finish available on select trims, such as Pro and AT4.
Seven trim levels are available for the 2026 Sierra HD. Pro is our workhorse, offering more than just the basics. If your business needs a professional upgrade, this is a great place to start. The Sierra HD is offered in SLE and SLT, both offering high value with greater capability. The SLT offers a larger 13.4-inch version of the GMC Premium Infotainment System touchscreen, along with the 12.3-inch Digital Information Center.

When you see the letters AT4 on a truck, you know the first place to take one. The rugged roads of the Pacific Northwest welcome these rigs, as they put BFGoodrich off-road rubber onto dirt, mud, sand, and gravel. Plus, they get the extra layer of protection from frame-mounted skid plates and the additional suspension travel from the twin-tube Rancho shocks. The AT4 is available in both 2500HD and 3500HD.
If you want the extra capability of an AT4 with more comfort, step up to the AT4X. It’s an upgrade that is skin deep, with 1.5 inches of extra suspension lift, along with Multimatic DSSV dampers and a set of 35-inch Goodyear Territory MT tires. If that isn’t enough, you can add a package full of goodies from American Expedition Vehicles that adds stamped steel bumpers, steering gear, and transfer case skid plates made of boron steel. The AT4X is available only on the 2500HD.
However, there is one trim level that speaks to the luxury you want, even if work needs to be done. For over 25 years, the name Denali has come to symbolize a level of prestige that is second to none. It offers the most features that are designed for comfort and distinction.

If you want even more than just a luxurious pickup truck, step up to the Denali Ultimate. Here, the Duramax turbodiesel is standard, along with upgraded equipment inside and out.
All of these great trim levels are a part of the 2026 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty pickup truck’s story. If it is your kind of pickup truck, contact us at Valley GMC for a good look at what they can do for you soon.
