The 2025 GMC Acadia is Roomy, Comfortable, and Well-Equipped
For the 2024 model year, the GMC Acadia returned to being a full-size 3-row crossover. We use the term “crossover” to distinguish it from the truck-based Yukon models, which are still a bit larger than the already spacious Acadia. By contrast, the Acadia is built off the VSS-S unibody platform, which gives it a more comfortable car-like ride despite its size. The redesign also gave the Acadia a more rigid, squared-off appearance that closely matched the GMC truck lineup. Despite its recent redesign, the 2025 Acadia has a few changes for 2025, about which Valley GMC is happy to inform you.
Acadia Lineup
The Acadia grades include the Elevation, AT4, and Denali. The AT4 is off-road focused, with torque control added to the standard AWD system, an off-road-tuned suspension, and all-terrain tires, among other AT4 exclusives. As with all GMC models, the Denali has all the luxury features, including leather seating surfaces, an 8-inch head-up display, 20-inch wheels, a unique grille, heated and ventilated front seats, and other upgrades.
Elevation Model is Further Enhanced
With the specialization of the AT4 and Denali models, the Elevation, which has a starting MSRP of $44,900, carries the weight of being the volume seller. So you might be surprised to find the Elevation equipped expected of a “base” model. These include a Bose® Premium 12-speaker audio system, a 15-inch diagonal center touchscreen, an 11-inch digital driver’s instrumentation cluster, and an 8-way power driver seat. The 2nd-row bench returns as standard equipment, giving the Acadia maximum seating of eight again.
Also, like the rest of the model line, the Elevation is now available with the Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology. This is great for anyone expecting to regularly put long highway miles on their Acadia. The system lets you truly drive hands and feet free on North America’s highways. The system is based on having highway details pre-mapped into the system database. Already well on its way, GM expects over 750,000 miles of highways to be pre-mapped by the end of 2025.
New for 2025 is a Premium Package for the Elevation, which includes:
- 6-way power front passenger seat
- 2nd-row captain’s chairs
- CoreTec seating surfaces (looks and feels like leather but is more durable and easily cleanable)
- 20-inch Bright Silver alloy wheels
- Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror with universal garage door opener
Powering all Acadia is a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. A 4-cylinder may seem small for a vehicle of this size until you hear that it produces 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed transmission, which sends power to the front wheels on the Elevation and Denali models, with AWD available on both and standard on the AT4. The AWD system can also be disabled to improve fuel economy when not needed. On that subject, the 2025 Acadia is EPA city/highway combined rated at 20/27/23 for FWD models and 19/24/21 with AWD.
After driving the 2025 Acadia, automotive enthusiast site TheCarConnection.com declared: “This big crossover’s best driving attribute is certainly comfortable ride quality. AT4 and Denali versions with their trick dual-valve dampers take both big bumps and small road imperfections in stride.”
The Acadia is the Professional Grade 3-row crossover one expects from GMC and is meticulously designed for the active family. If you have one, come test drive the Acadia at Valley GMC in Auburn, Washington.
