“Kicking Cancer” with Valley GMC and Dean Janikowski

Join Washington State Kicker Dean Janikowski and Valley GMC as we help raise funds for the Heather Janikowski Foundation towards Kicking Cancer for good.

Valley GMC Fights Cancer

President of Valley GMC, Ron Claudon, lost both of his parents to cancer. To help with the cause, Valley GMC has a tradition of partnering with the Valley Girls and Guys to support local cancer patients with the Test Drive for a Cure event. Valley GMC donates $10 in honor of every test drive in October.

We’re excited to introduce Dean Janikowski as Valley GMC’s celebrity guest and first Test Drive for the Cure donation in the all-new 2025 GMC Sierra EV. Dean isn’t just known for kicking field goals for Washington State University; he’s on a mission to kick cancer.

Dean Janikowski’s Story:

Dean Janikowski’s journey is deeply personal; his mother, Heather, faced breast cancer starting in November 2012. After a double mastectomy, she went into remission, but the battle continued with recurrences in 2018 and 2019. Despite her courage and family support, Heather lost her fight on January 19, 2022.

To honor his mother, Dean has set a goal of raising $30,000 for the Heather Janikowski Foundation, which supports families across Washington battling cancer. He’s asking for your help to not only donate but to spread the word, especially throughout the tight-knit WSU family.

After meeting Dean and hearing about his cause and bonding over an interest in electric vehicles, Ron Claudon from Valley GMC invited Dean to kick the tires of the GMC Sierra EV—an electric vehicle designed for strength, capability, and zero emissions in the Puget Sound skies. You can hear more about Dean’s mission by watching their test drive. With features like Crab Walk and 4-Wheel Steer, the Sierra EV is built to tackle any challenge. Dean will also be riding around on the Hummer EV electric bike, a great way to tackle those Pullman hills on the way to class.

Join Dean and Valley GMC in driving change, both on the road and in the fight against cancer. Spread the word, donate, and let’s kick cancer together!

Janikowski is helping us kick off something special—literally! Now it’s your turn! Help us kick cancer together by donating to the Heather Janikowski Foundation. Every donation goes directly to families in Washington who are battling cancer.
