HUMMER EVs Get Even More Capable and Advanced for 2026 Model Year
2026 will be the fourth model year for the HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV, bringing some updates to the models. Valley GMC shares what we know.
First, there is an upgrade for the Crabwalk feature HUMMER calls “King Crab.” This update originated from the “Mystery Mode” button, where owners could submit their own suggestions for HUMMER improvements. When King Crab mode is activated, the rear wheels turn significantly faster than the front wheels. This enhances maneuverability when navigating tight off-road spaces, rock crawling, or just negotiating confined areas. King Crab will be standard on all 2X and 3X Pickup and SUV trim levels. However, it is not limited to 2026 models. Since it requires no hardware changes, King Crab will be available on all 2022–2025 HUMMER EVs via an Over-the-Air (OTA) update later this year.

By 2026, HUMMER EV models will feature bidirectional charging. This allows you to transfer power between vehicles to assist a friend with a compatible EV. The vehicle-to-home mode can supply electricity to a properly equipped home during a blackout.
Super Cruise also receives an update that integrates with the onboard Google Maps system. This system automatically guides the vehicle into the correct lane for your selected route when on Super Cruise-capable roads. The adaptive cruise control system will also be updated, allowing the driver to have the vehicle automatically adjust its speed to match posted speed limits.

2026 models will also include retuned dampers for an overall improvement in ride quality.
“The refreshed HUMMER EV enhances an already amazing vehicle with new software innovations and forward-thinking design,” said Al Oppenheiser, GMC HUMMER EV Chief Engineer. “From the start, we aimed to provide HUMMER EV owners over-the-air software updates. All 2026 HUMMER EV owners will have access to our latest software going forward, allowing new features to be introduced throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.”

2026 also introduces a new limited run Carbon Fiber Edition for the 3X Pickup and SUV models, featuring drivetrain enhancements that will make them the fastest HUMMER EV models yet, with a 0-60 mph time of just 2.8 seconds. The improved performance results from recent software and propulsion calibration optimizations, along with some hardware updates. Carbon Fiber Edition models showcase an exclusive Magnus Gray Matte exterior and a Velocity Ember interior color scheme. Other features included in the Carbon Fiber Edition are:
- Unique 22-inch carbon fiber black wheels
- All-Terrain tires
- Carbon fiber inserts in the mirror caps and skid plate
- Black approach shield
- Black emblems
- 22-inch spare carbon fiber black wheel (SUV only)

The 2026 HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV are expected to join the Valley GMC inventory later in 2025. Pricing and GM’s estimated range information will be announced closer to the launch date.
