2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate Profile

The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 rides into the new year as one of the best and most capable vehicles currently on the market. The Sierra is one of the best-selling trucks every year and has established itself as a luxurious vehicle that can be put to work in every situation and under all types of conditions.

New Color Options

For 2026, GMC has made some subtle changes to the latest Sierra pickup, including the addition of Glacier White Tricoat and Coastal Dune exterior paint options, which replaces White Frost Tricoat and Thunderstorm Gray.

Trim Levels and Truck Configurations

Buyers can still choose between the Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trim levels. Depending on the trim choice, the Sierra can be configured as either a two- or four-wheel drive in one of the following body styles: Short Bed Crew Cab, Standard Bed Crew Cab, Standard Bed Double Cab, Standard Bed Regular Cab, or Long Bed Regular Cab.

Engine Options

The engines that are available on the Sierra include the 2.7-liter TurboMax that features an 8-speed automatic and produces 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque; the beloved 5.3-liter V8 that puts out 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque; a 6.2-liter V8 that delivers 420 horsepower and 460 torque; as well as a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline-6 that has 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. Both the V8 and Duramax engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic.

A better Sport Exhaust

The only other thing that GMC did was tweak the optional Sport exhaust that was added as a later option to the 2025 model year. The company says that the exhaust has now been tuned to provide a more aggressive tone when the truck is in Sport mode. The exhaust system is a dealer-installed option, identified by the order code RWQ. It is exclusively offered on the SLT, AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims that are optioned with the 6.2-liter V8. The AT4X features this exhaust as standard and automatically gets the upgrade.

Towing Capabilities

When equipped with the 2.7-liter TurboMax, the Sierra 1500 can tow up to 9,500 lbs, while the 5.3-liter V8 can tow up to 11,300 lbs. The 6.2-liter V8 and 3.0-liter Duramax both have similar towing capacities, at 13,200 and 13,300 pounds, respectively. Before towing or hauling anything, please consult the sticker inside the driver’s door jamb, which indicates the maximum weight your truck can handle. This weight capacity may vary depending on the vehicle’s options.
