​​2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate is THE Ultimate Luxury Off-Roader​

When GMC updated the Yukon for 2025, they wanted to create the next level of SUV, combining off-road capability and luxury in one bold package. The result is the 2025 Yukon AT4 Ultimate. It makes a definitive statement anywhere you take it.  

Recently, the Motor Authority website had some time behind the wheel of the 2025 Yukon AT4 Ultimate to see if it stacks up to its promises.  

It all starts with the exterior. A specific grille matches the capability of the Yukon AT4 Ultimate. This is augmented by a lower front clip that sports two red recovery points and a brighter trim surrounding them. Skid plates protect the underbody from rocks, keeping key components on the frame from being destroyed. A set of 20-inch alloy wheels wears all-terrain tires. 

Inside, Motor Authority remarked that the Yukon is “much different” than it was the year before. While “big and spacious,” you can climb up with the help of “power-deploying running boards” for easier access. They also love that the automatic transmission shifter was moved from the center console to the steering column.  

The biggest feature that Motor Authority noticed was the 16.8-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System. Google Built-in is a part of this system with Google Assistant communicating with your Yukon AT4 Ultimate while utilizing the Google suite of apps, without having to connect your device. They said that “access to the Google Play store and Google Maps means some users may not bother with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, though they’re also on board.” 

The AT4 Ultimate also adds a digital driver display up front, along with a head-up display. Night Vision also appears on the driver display, giving you a digital camera view of the road ahead beyond the headlights. You also get eight-way power-adjustable leather front seats that are heated and cooled with a massage function.  

Second-row passengers have access to an eight-inch rear seat climate control touchscreen and dual 12.6-inch entertainment displays that also receive streaming services, such as YouTube. Bose adds 18 speakers throughout the cabin, including its Centerpoint system with adjustable focus on the driver or the entire cabin.  

Your Yukon AT4 Ultimate can be powered by a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine or the 3.0-liter Duramax inline six-cylinder turbodiesel with 495 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission pairs these engines with a two-speed transfer case that is automatically engaged.  

Super Cruise is also part of the Yukon AT4 Ultimate standard feature list. This hands-free driver assistance technology will let you keep your eyes on the road while allowing the Yukon AT4 Ultimate to get you to your destination safely while on the highway. The Air Ride Adaptive Suspension was a huge plus on Motor Authority’s Yukon AT4 Ultimate tester. In fact, they felt that it “cancelled out” any rough surfaces they drove on.
