Performance
All Terrain models feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. SLE and SLT models can achieve 24 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, respectively, while AT4 and Denali trim levels lose just 1 mpg on both driving cycles.
Each Terrain model has Hill Descent Control for extra off-roading control when traversing down a steep hill.
SLE and SLT models come standard with front-wheel drive and can be optioned with all-wheel drive. AT4 and Denali trims have all-wheel drive as standard.
Exterior
The 2024 GMC Terrain features a rugged front grille and bumper and standard LED headlights across the model range. Each trim level has its own unique and distinctive grille. The base SLE trim gets a black grille with a chrome accent surround, while the SLT range has three long chrome strips over the grille. Moving up to the Terrain AT4 also gives you three chrome strips on the grille that meet at the edges to copy the style of the headlights. Denali models have the trademark honeycomb grille, while Elevation Terrain trims have the same style grille as the SLT but in all black.
Roof rails are available on all models.
SLE Terrain gets 17-inch silver painted aluminum wheels, while AT4 models receive 17-inch black aluminum wheels. SLT features 18-inch silver painted aluminum wheels, and Denali models have 19-inch wheels with multiple styles available. All Terrain models come standard with all-season tires. SLE and SLT models can be optioned with the Elevation package, which gives the Terrain unique 19-inch gloss black aluminum wheels.
All trim levels also come standard with a 16-inch spare tire.
The GMC Terrain features an acoustic laminated windshield and active noise cancellation to keep road, tire, and other unwanted harsh sounds from reaching the comfortable cabin.
Interior
The 2024 GMC Terrain seats up to 5 passengers in pure luxury and comfort. The rear cargo capacity with upright rear seats is 29.6 cu.ft. with that growing to 63.3 cu.ft. with the seats folded. The total EPA passenger volume is 103.2 cu.ft. As mentioned in the overview, the Terrain features a flat-folding front passenger seat, allowing extra-long items up to 8 feet to be slid in easily for transport.

The SLE trim comes standard with premium cloth seats, while SLT, AT4, and Denali grades have perforated leather seating. Heated seats are available on SLE while standard on all other trim levels.
Technology
All Terrain models come standard with Amazon Alexa built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. SLE models come with a 7-inch multimedia display, with higher trims having an 8-inch display. Standard is a 4.2-inch digital gauge cluster on SLE, SLT, and AT4 models, while the Denali receives an 8-inch digital cluster.
A WiFi hotspot is standard on all trim levels, and a 7-speaker Bose premium sound system is optional on all but the base SLE and standard on the Terrain Denali.
Front passengers get USB-A and USB-C ports, and rear passengers get two USB-A ports to charge their devices while on the go.
Safety
The 2024 Terrain is a very safe crossover SUV, and it comes standard with GMC Pro Safety, which consists of Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam automatic high beam control.
Moving up to the AT4 and Denali will get buyers GMC Pro Safety Plus, which has everything listed above, plus Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Change Alert, Blind-Spot Warning, and Rear Parking Assistance.
