2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition Unique Features & Design Cues

Over the past couple of years, the GMC brand has put a special focus on introducing new trim levels. While Denali has been around for a long time, representing the top-of-the-line trim level for each model on the lineup, it was recently joined by another lineup-spanning trim level called AT4. The AT4 line of trims instead represents the most off-road ready trim level available on each model. While every model on the lineup is now offered with Denali and AT4 trim levels, some models are now pushing things further with new Denali Ultimate and AT4X trim levels. Then GMC sometimes pushes even further than that, like they’re doing this coming year with the extreme 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition. This new model promises to be the most off-road capable Sierra HD ever built, so we cannot wait to see its unique features & design cues up close and in person.

What makes the AEV Edition extreme?

This unique AEV Edition of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD takes everything that will be found in the first-ever AT4X version of the heavy-duty pickup truck and builds on it. This starts by adding robust stamped steel bumpers with integrated recovery points onto the front and rear of the vehicle, including front winch capability. Heavy duty skid plates are then affixed to the vehicle to protect all of the important and somewhat fragile parts of the vehicle normally exposed in the undercarriage. Plus, a set of unique 18” Salta wheels are added to further differentiate the vehicle.

As far as design cues, beyond the aforementioned wheels, the exterior of the pickup truck will feature unique exterior badging while the interior adds AEV embroidery to the front-seat head restraints and floor liners. These are the features and design cues that are added to the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X to make it an even more extreme off-road vehicle than it already is.

If you’re wondering what exactly those three initials stand for, AEV is actually a third party company. American Expedition Vehicles, or AEV, is an aftermarket company that has been around the industry for a quarter century.
