Performance

All Acadia models are powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The EPA estimates the fuel economy at 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, with 23 mpg combined for front-wheel drive (FWD) models and 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, 21 mpg combined for all-wheel drive (AWD) models. 

FWD is standard on most models, with AWD available. The Acadia AT4 is an exception, featuring a standard AWD system enhanced by an Active Torque Control system to boost its off-road capabilities. 

All Acadia models come standard with the Trailering Package, enabling up to 5,000 pounds of maximum towing capacity. When properly equipped, the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine offers power and torque, which customers will appreciate when towing.  

Exterior

With its large, prominent grille and C-shaped daytime running lights, the GMC Acadia’s front-end appearance closely aligns with the full-size Sierra 1500 pickup and Yukon SUV. The side profile features smooth surfaces and a window design that combines black pillars with privacy-tinted windows, creating a long, dark, striking stretch back to the rear D-pillar. Stylish wheel choices further improve the overall profile.  

The cross rails enable the roof to carry items like bicycles, kayaks, skis, snowboards, or a versatile cargo box. The molded side steps enhance access to the cross bars and their attachments. The steps also make it easier to get in and out of the Acadia.  

The Denali Ultimate model features Vader Chrome on the GMC grille and badge, while the daytime running lights display an animated lighting sequence when you approach. The model also has 22-inch machined aluminum wheels with an “After Midnight” metallic finish.

Interior

The Acadia features an attractive dashboard with clean lines and large digital displays. New for 2026 is a standard digital rearview mirror. You can use this as a regular mirror normally, but when cargo or tall passengers block a clear view, you can toggle to get a completely unobstructed view from a rear camera image. 

Behind the third row, customers will find 23 cubic feet of cargo space. Folding those seats flat gives you 57.3 cubic feet behind the second row. With all seats folded, owners will have one of the largest interiors among mid-size three-row SUVs on sale, with 97.5 cubic feet of space.   

The Elevation trim level offers a second-row bench seat that comfortably fits three adults, increasing the overall seating capacity to eight. Standard across the Elevation and other models are bucket-style second-row captain’s chairs, which seat seven. All trim levels can also be equipped with a panoramic sunroof.   

Standard on the Denali Ultimate is the previously optional 16-speaker Bose® Performance Series Sound System.  Standard on other models is a Bose® Premium 12-speaker audio system.

Technology

Anchoring the dash of the Acadia is a standard 15.0-inch portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen display. This screen offers various customizable options and is compatible with Google Built-in apps and navigation. Also standard across the model line is an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster for the driver.   

With the surround-view camera system, the 15.0-inch display can access eight different camera views, including:

All GMC Acadia models are available with Super Cruise, the industry-leading hands-free advanced driver assistance system. With more than 750,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada mapped out, the system includes trailering assist and lane-changing abilities.
